The kids love carving their pumpkins! It's messy and gross and they get the biggest kick out of it. This year we laid sheets out all over the floor and all 4 of us went to work.
Dressing up at Halloween is always a mixed emotion for me. I remember dressing up and trick or treating as a kid and have fond memories....nothing negative and dark. So we let the kids dress up and go out.....but only to certain houses and only in good costumes. No death and destruction. It was raining so they only went to our closest 5 neighbors houses, came home and watched a movie. :)
