Pumpkin Fun

We aren't done with carving pumpkins yet....but we got started earlier emptying them out. Jaz and Isaac were quite entertaining. Though I must say the BEST part was when Isaac was scared of the one pumpkin that Mommy carved, and Jazmine crawled into his lap to comfort him! They are just too darn cute!!!!! Head over to our YouTube channel for more!! CLICK HERE!!

Here is one of Isaac telling us how scary the pumpkin is... :) And like I said, MORE over at YouTube!!!

Daddy's Birthday

Yesterday was Daddy's 30th Birthday. :) We made Daddy a personal birthday card, and baked cupcakes which the kids decorated. They had SO MUCH FUN! They are still asking when they can make more cupcakes for someones birthday. :)..... and yes, they were both a little more preoccupied with eating than actually doing...LOL. Oh, and of course staying true to my nudist children form, Isaac is shirtless, and Jaz is pantless. *sigh* Choose your battles...LOL

Hey, Laugh, that was a joke.....

Isaac is going through this phase, where his sippy cups of milk/juice/water hardly get drank any more. He thinks it is much more fun to put some in his mouth, and let it dribble down his face onto his shirt, belly, floor, whatever the case may be. IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!!!! For starters, it is a waste! That juice or milk was perfectly good, and we don't need to be spending money on food that gets wasted when children starve and are thirsty. Seriously, wasted food/beverages are a HUGE hot button with me. Anyway....on top of that, the MESS! I can clean and clean the carpet, but I feel like I can never truly get the milk or juice out. Just yesterday alone he did it with 3 (THREE) sippy cups. One of juice, and two of milk. By the third cup, I had completely lost my patience. I yelled. And yelled. And I may of yelled again one more time. (*insert embarrassed face here....but I am only human...*)

Isaac of course started crying. "Mommy you yelled at me." (Secretly this broke my heart, but I was mad....so I didn't let him know.) I told him if he wouldn't listen, maybe I wouldn't get so mad, and then when he started grabbing and pulling at me to get up, I told him "No, not right now. Mommy is mad. Stay in your room and leave mommy alone for a minute."

About 2 mins later, double trouble BOTH come walking out. Jazmine telling me I hurt her brothers feelings, and Isaac wanting more milk! (UGH!!!!) I told him no milk, I was still mad, and please go back to the room. He started to walk down the hall, then stopped and came back.

He then proceeds to tell me one of his and his sisters fabulously not-funny, but you can't help but laugh because they think they are so funny, knock knock jokes. I tried very very hard to keep a straight face when he busted up laughing at the end of the joke thinking he was hilarious and his joke would win mommy over from her mad. When I didn't laugh, he looked right at me with those big brown eyes and said with a very serious face.....

"Hey, LAUGH! That was a joke, you 'possed to laugh!"

Needless to say, THAT broke right through the mad. I started laughing and gave him a big huge hug. :)

147MillionOrphans.com

The children's shirts came in todays mail. Every night before bed when we say our prayers, we pray for Jesus to love, shelter, feed, and protect the children who need it who don't have families. Isaac doesn't completely grasp it, but Jazmine is excited that Mommy buying her new shirt means food for hungry children. They are such good, loving kids....I am blessed!

Pumpkin Patch

The heart of my child...

We had family visiting this weekend, and had fun hanging out and heading to the Pumpkin Patch. I have a ton of pics to share (quite a few over on FaceBook already), but will share those here tomorrow. For today, I wanted to share these couple pics, and a quick insight into the heart of my son.

One of the fun things the children liked at this farm were the horses to ride. Jazmine was old enough to actually circle the arena on the horse, and LOVED it as much as last year.

Then there is my little (big) Isaac. He was not old enough to get to circle on the horse, so he was stuck sitting in the middle of the circle just hanging out on the horse..."For insurance reasons". I admit, I didn't give my son enough credit. Here I was feeling bad for him, since he had to just sit still and watch Sissy circle around him, but he was no where near my line of thinking. He was non-stop chatting. And all he was chatting about was "I have the fastest horse of all. We are going so super fast! Nobody can catch up to us we are so fast. The fastest of all! Super super fast!" The rest of the day, and even still today, all he can talk about is how he had the "fastest horse of all". *sigh*... I just love them!!

Couple Pics

These pics I took a little over a month ago, but just realized I never posted. The one of them together is my new favorite of both children. And actually, since it is so rainy and gross, maybe I'll try to do a photoshoot today with them.... :) Wish me luck!!

The things they say.....

The things that come out of children's mouths just crack me up!!! Here are some recent favs.....

As we all know, Jaz is obsessed with foreign languages, her favorite being Spanish because Mommy knows and can help her. But whenever I don't know, she says "Well, I guess I better call Tia. SHE'LL know how to say it mommy!" Anyway, she is pretty entertained with Chinese right now, as KaiLan is a current fav cartoon. Yesterday she was telling me all her Chinese she knew (I was shocked....LOL) then she says..."Buddy isn't a true big boy yet, so he doesn't know how to speak in Chinese like I do, but he will be able to when he turns 3. Then he'll be as good as I am." HUH??? LOL

Isaac (we are struggling with his obsession to pee everywhere BUT the potty right now) says "Where is Grandma's brush? I want to pee in it. But Shhh....you can't tell her, it's a surprise!" Um, yep, pretty sure Grandma would be surprised!!

I had been trying to get the kids to clean their room for way too long, and they were just SOOOO slow! Anyway, Jazmine comes out wanting to play a game. I asked if her room was clean, (being able to see clearly down the hall that it was NOT) and that if her room was clean then we could play a game, color, or whatever she wanted. She looks at me and says "Yes, it's clean. But you can't look." Like I said, I knew it wasn't clean, so we talked about lying for a quick second, I reminded her it was smarter to tell me the truth because I'd be LESS mad that way, and asked again if it was clean. Again, she said yes. So I told her how disappointed I was that she was continuing to not tell the truth about her room being clean, because I could see it wasn't. She says as adamantly as possible...."I wasn't LYING mommy, I was PRETENDING my room was clean! That's not lying." *sigh* How do you not laugh after that? ;)

Toddler Beds....Gone

The children have needed to get out of their toddler beds for a little bit now....Isaac likes to pick up the mattresses and toss them around the room, and use the support beams as a balance beam. So, I got them a twin size bed. They are still sharing for now, but they LOVE it, and they are still young enough. Soon enough they will have their own rooms. They are so cute cuddled all in bed....one head at each end. I love them and I LOVE how they love each other.

Such Giving Hearts

For as long as I can remember, whenever the kids go to put clothes on that don't fit any longer, I take them and put them in a box. I then tell the children that those clothes are going to babies or younger children who don't have clothes that fit them, and really need some. As soon as I got busted taking toys from their room, I told them the same thing. They had so many toys and there were children in the world who didn't have any, so let's share our toys. When we were moving last year, I even sat toys out and asked the kids to pick out what toys they wanted to share with others and what ones they wanted to keep. And they probably willingly gave away more than half of what I was hoping to.

A few weeks ago, Jazmine even came with me when I took a few boxes of food, clothes, & toys to the Union Gospel Mission. She was so very excited to be giving to these children she always hears about. The absolute heartbreak on her face when she realized she couldn't personally hand them to the children broke my heart. I explained to her that the wonderful nice gentleman that we did give the things to will take good care of them and make sure the kids get everything. After a few minutes of talking, she was okay again, and couldn't stop talking about the nice man helping her to help the kids. (Absolutely melts my heart!!)

Yesterday, totally out of the blue, Jazmine and Isaac both started putting books and toys on my kitchen counter. Needless to say, I was confused. I asked why they were doing that, (because they know better...LOL) and Jazmine looked at me with those big blue eyes and said...."These are books and toys for other kids who don't have any." And Isaac said... "I am going to go get more books!" Pretty impressive for 2 and 3.

Now, I know I am not perfect, and some days I would tell you I don't think I am even that good of a mom, and God must of made his first mistake when he made me a mommy....but when those children were going through their room and putting toys on my counter for me to give away, it gave me goosebumps to think that maybe, just maybe, I am doing okay. :)
