Our Christmas...

On Christmas Eve, Kim and Sam brought all the kids over which was a really nice surprise since we haven't seen them in forever. Jaz and Isaac loved having more kids around. Later, after Jaz and Isaac went to sleep, I finished wrapping the last couple presents and then Lenny and I put Jazmine's big wheel together. That and Isaac's Fire Truck sat in front of the tree with bows on them.

Christmas Morning, once the kids woke up I let Jazmine watch TV until she realized how much stuff was in the dining room (where the tree is) and she saw their big toys. Then we woke daddy up and started with the presents. Of course Isaac was most fascinated with the paper at first, but he rapidly gained interest in the new toys. Jazmine, at first, was almost overwhelmed. But after a couple minutes she caught on. She did a great job tearing into the paper once we started it for her. And when we would hand her something we would tell her "It's a present for you". So all day she would grab her new toys and say "present for you". It was very cute!

All in all, it was a good holiday. The kids had fun playing with their new toys all day, I had a chance to get rid of old toys, and everyone got to relax. And of course the Prime Rib was to die for!

After dinner, Lenny and the kids took a bath so the could play with the new tub toys! :) But as I was getting Isaac dressed I noticed he felt awful warm. Lenny thought maybe the bath was too warm so I just watched him for a little bit. (Although all day he was sleepy - he took way more naps than usual.) After awhile I took his temp and he had a fever, so out came the tylenol. All the rest of the night he was restless, and I had to keep giving him tylenol all night because the fever wouldn't stay away. Poor baby - first time sick.... He wouldn't stay asleep unless I was holding him. He woke up every time I put him down. This AM he still has his fever, and is super sleepy, but no where near as fussy as he was overnight.

After everyone was asleep, I had time to think and reflect. I was pretty sentimental all day. I think part of it was because I am amazed at how completely my life is all about my children. Secondly, I am pretty sure I am done having children, so this was my last "Baby's First Christmas". This was definately a Christmas I will remember because of the children. And I look forward to posting the pictures of it as soon as I get a chance to upload them!

I hope everyone else had a Merry Christmas and didn't take a moment of the time with family and loved ones for granted.

Santa Babies

Well we went to see Santa. Actually, I took the kids to try on Saturday, and they started crying so I left. I wasn't going to traumatize them. Yesterday daddy came along, too, to try to help. Well, Jazmine started screaming because she was scared of Santa since it was someone trying to hold her that she didn't know. (I feel like a terrible mommy because her "world" consists of me, Lenny, and a little family - no day care or anything for extra interaction with people she doens't know). Anyway, since Jaz started crying, Isaac started to also. I was ready to grab the kids and leave, but Lenny and the photographer both said we might as well get the picture because they were already crying and it would be a humerous memory.

Needless to say, I gave in and we got the photo. At first I was NOT amused and was very upset. For starters, my children always behave in public, and secondly Jazmine's pic was so good last year I was still holding on to false hopes I could get a good one two years in a row. However, the more I look at the picture, and the more I think back to the whole event, I see the humor in it. I am even starting to like the picture.

Little blessings...

Well, the last couple days have not been super easy days for me. And when things get too overwhelming, I always make myself smile by thinking of the little things the kids do throughout the day before I go to sleep at night. Some of the things that always make me smile....
~ The way Isaac grins up at me with his two bottom teeth like he just won the lottery every time I go to pick him up
~ Jazmine saying "luv you"
~Isaac rolling around on the floor with his blanket over his head. It is his FAVORITE game, and when you pull the blanket off he laughs so hard you swear he's going to cry!
~Jazzie hearing the theme song to "king of Queens" and running to me saying "mommy our song" and starts dancing
~Isaac and his crazy excitement when it is time to eat! He squels and kicks and starts jumping. You'd think he was starved.
~Jazmine and her exasperated "Ahhh MaMA!!!!" everytime she thinks I am being silly or am being unfair.

Isaac takes off crawling...

Last week, on the 7th, Isaac suddenly decided to start crawling. He had been getting around just fine rolling for awhile, but must of got bored with that! He is very good at getting where he needs to go with crawling, but he is so LAZY! He is perfectly content just laying there and playing with his toys. He will only take off if he sees something he wants bad enough that he thinks is worth the effort to crawl to!

Jazmine LOVES his new mobility. She laughs and thinks it's funny. Although now with him crawling around, I am on double duty making sure nothing Jaz drops will harm him if he decides to make the effort to get to it!

Meet Our Children!

Jazmine Mae Skye was welcomed into the world on February 1, 2006, 4 weeks earlier than expected. After 22 very fun hours of labor, she weighed in at 6lbs 5oz and measured 18 3/4in. She was a little bit of a surprise because we spent the last 3 months planning on a boy! She was the light of our lives and we had no idea we could know such love. Her brother added to our abundance of love and blessings!

Leonard Issac joined his sister on May 22, 2007. He was 2 weeks early. However, once he decided it was time to check out the world, he was in a bit more of a hurry. So he only torurted me for 7 hours. Isaac, as we call him, was a bit larger than Jazmine and I thank my lucky stars he didn't wait the two more weeks til his due date! Isaac weighed in at 7lbs 13oz, and was 19 3/4 inches.

Here are a couple pictures of the children as newborns....Jazmine at 11 days old, and Isaac leaving the hospital at 3days old.
